Double torsion springs, also called double leg springs, are used for higher torques. They are usually mounted on a mandrel and should be loaded in the coiling direction. There must be sufficient clearance between the mandrel and the spring. The force build-up is done by pressing closed. To prevent friction on the axle, the ends should be fixed.
